Maternity Milk Bath Session, Spring Hill TN

Hello everyone, today I would like to share with you how I started to do Milk Bath Maternity Sessions. It was a new experience and I wanted it to go well.

Sure, I did a model call before that. I needed a lady who was 30 –  35 weeks pregnant). I think it is a good time for any type of maternity photo sessions.

At first, I had to decide where I was going to do it. I had 2 options: my real big bathtub and little kids pool in my home-based studio.

I REALLY wanted to try a bathtub at first, just because It would be more “natural” way to do it, especially if I need to manage it in my client’s house in the future.

Light Decoration and Milk Bath

  1. Flowers. I decided to go with artificial flowers, just because I had a lot of them already. And it is always nice to spend less on the “try out” session.

One little thing… Flowers are made of fabric and they sink as soon as they touch the water. There are different ways to make them float but I decided to try shoe waterproof spray and it worked.

  1. To decorate walls around the tub. Well, there was another problem, the tile wasn’t a perfect color and the age of the bathtub was really narrow (about 2-2,5 inches). Likely I had leftovers from our porch renovation project – porch siding. It sounds a little bit crazy, I know, but I had managed to use it. I had painted it and attached to the wall using 3m hooks. I got some real tree branches from our backyard and added them to my flowers.

  1. The Light source. I hardly have any natural light in my bathroom. So I had to use one of my Einstein Flashes with a softbox on it.

  1. The Maternity Wardrobe. I don’t think you must have a dress, I think the light fabric will work too but I had two laced Maternity dresses in use already, so why not.
  1. To make milk water I used a powdered creamer. It is less expensive and I could get plenty of it in case I needed more. I wasn’t sure how much of the whole milk I would need.

As I found out, powdered milk doesn’t make your skin feel sticky at least not with that consistency.

It was a kind experience and I am planning to do it again pretty soon.

See ya.

Hi there just wanted to give you a quick heads up and let you know a few of the images aren’t loading correctly.
I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue.

I’ve tried it in two different internet browsers and both show the same outcome.
